CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION RECAP OCTOBER 23, 2023 Mayor Stram also announced that two applications have been submitted for the vacant position on the City Council. After some discussion, it was determined that the application period for this position will close on November 27th, 2023, interviews and appointment will be on December 11th, 2023, and swearing in on January 8th, 2023. Aaron Donley from Sanipac provided the council with handouts outlining the proposed IMRF project and its costs. After much discussion, Mayor Stram requested that Commissioner Buch call a meeting of the South Lane Mayors and City Managers to discuss the proposal before the Commissioners vote in November. The council also directed Manager Amberg to draft a letter to the County Commission outlining their concerns. City Planner Curtis Thomas provided an introduction to the wetlands study. The City Council requested that he bring the report back to future work sessions so that they can discuss it in smaller chunks. The council reviewed the proposed Work From Home policy and recommended that the agreement be revised to be for a 6 month period with the possibility for renewals. Administrative Assistant Heather Ward and Code Enforcement Officer Chelsie Haynes addressed the council in favor of the policy. The council directed Manager Amber to put the policy on the November 13, 2023 agenda for a vote.

We know that everyone is preparing for Trick-or-Treaters! Remember to make sure that your decorations are not just spooky, but safe, too!
about 1 year ago, Heather Ward
Keep halloween decorations away from open flames, light bulbs and heaters. It's easy for decorrations like cornsta;ls and crepe paper to catch on fire. Keep exits clear of decorations, so nothing blocks a way out.
